Life Insurance with The Standard
NMRHCA provides a Basic Life insurance plan if you are an "eligible retiree" (as defined in NMSA 10-7C-4) who participates under the New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority. You must be currently enrolled in any NMRHCA medical plan. The Basic Life plan is $6,000. This plan only applies to retirees who retired prior to 01/01/2012.
NMRHCA recognizes that individuals have different needs and has provided you the opportunity to apply for the right amount of protection for you and your family at competitive group rates. For eligible members currently enrolled and those not enrolled in any NMRHCA medical plan:
Additional Life may be elected among ten options beginning at $2,000 to a maximum of $60,000.
Dependents Life for your spouse may be elected among ten options beginning at $2,000 to a maximum of $60,000.
Dependents Life for your child(ren) may be elected among options of $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000.

Travel Assistance
Designed to respond to most medical care situations and many other emergencies you and your family may experience when you travel 100 miles or more from your home or internationally for up to 180 days for business or pleasure. Travel Assistance provides a wide-ranging program of information, referral, coordination and assistance services. These services include pre-trip assistance, medical assistance, emergency transportation, travel and technical assistance, legal services and medical supplies. Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year whether you are 100 or 10,000 miles from home. Life Services Toolkit (Effective July 1, 2016)
The Life Services Toolkit is automatically available to those retirees insured under the group Life insurance policy. Comprehensive online tools and services can help you create a will, make advance funeral plans and put your finances in order. After a loss, beneficiaries can consult experts by phone or in person, and obtain other helpful information online for up to 12 months after the date of death. Find out more in the Toolkit Flyer.
